Things are drawing to a close and hopefully all going well, we can handover the project on Friday. From the start this project has been very demanding both in terms of scheduling and in terms of how we are required to go about our site works. As you’d expect, this has caused some problems amongst our sub-contractors as they have often been the subject of client-end complaints. As of today, every sub-contractor has broken some sort of rule whether it be signing-in or out, arriving without RAMS, carrying CSCS cards, or just working safely in general. This has resulted in me having to repeatedly communicate the basics to all contractors and as you can imagine, does not make us look too good on site!

By comparison, Elan have worked almost entirely within programme and due to no fault of their own (bombscares, uncertainty over weekend working costs) have consistently managed to maintain progress. Elan have also spent more time on site than any other contractor and at no point have we had any negative feedback whatsoever regarding Hugh or the team. Hugh has also been pro-actively trying to engage Tesco’s IT team to ensure that what is provided by us, is exactly what is needed by the end-user – something that has been positively highlighted by the client.

In summary, it’s been a very positive experience working with Elan again and with Hugh in particular. His interactions with our guys, other contractors, and the client / end user have ensured works progressed as planned and as usual, he has always been on hand to provide updates or details on spec.
